Dr. Edward Chan FRCS(C)
General Surgery
Dr. Edward Chan is a general surgeon associated with Cambridge Memorial Hospital where he is on active staff.
Dr. Chan graduated from The Faculty of Medicine at The University of Western Ontario with a MD Cum Laude (highest distinction) degree in 1992. He completed an internship, residency and fellowship in general surgery at The University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians of Surgeons of Canada and has an appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University.
Dr. Chan started his practice in General Surgery including endoscopy in Cambridge, Ontario in 1998 and has a very busy, active practice.
Dr. Francois Flamand FRCS(C)
General Surgery
Dr. Francois Flamand obtained his Bachelor degree in Science (BSc) and his Doctorate degree in Medicine (MD) from the University of Manitoba.
Following a surgical internship, Dr Flamand completed a 5 year residency in surgery in London, Ontario. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed additional studies in minimally invasive surgery of the colon in Hamilton and Toronto. His primary interests are in endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery of the colon and rectum. He is currently on active staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He was chief of surgery from 1998 to 2000 and has a very busy surgical practice in Cambridge.
Dr. Mark Lee FRCP(C)
Gastroenterology
Dr. Mark Lee graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He continued his graduate studies there and received a Master of Science degree in Molecular and Medical Genetics.
Dr. Lee received his MD from the University of Ottawa. He went on to complete his internal medicine and gastroenterology fellowship at McMaster University in Hamilton. His special interests in gastroenterology include inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer screening.
Dr. Lee has lived and worked in the Waterloo region since 2007. He has a busy practice in Cambridge where he sees patients from across the region. He also has active staff privileges at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Augustin Nguyen FRCP(C)
Gastroenterology
Dr. Augustin Nguyen holds Bachelors and Masters of Science in Biochemistry. He completed his MD at the University of Toronto School of Medicine, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honour Medical Society.
Dr. Nguyen continued with his training in internal medicine and gastroenterology at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. His interests in gastroenterology include inflammatory bowel disease, chronic liver disease, endoscopy, and quality of care. He has active staff privileges at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and is the current Chief of the Department of Internal Medicine, Physician Director of Medical Programs, Physician Lead in Endoscopy for the Quality Management Partnership, as well as Co-Chair of the Endoscopy Quality Committee at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He has also the current Vice President of the Ontario Association of Clinic Endoscopists.
